Tone sandhi

Tone sandhi means, that the tone of some syllables changes under certain circumstances.

Cantonese tone sandhi is irregular, rather semantical than logical.
Therefore on this website, tone changes are marked by superscript digits.
E.g. mā⁴.mā means that the first syllable is originally pronunced with 1st tone, but is changed to 4th tone.
